Day 21 of our 2025 summer adventure, Thursday May 22, Gaby & Milt got up at 2am and headed into Knoxville to fly back to Texas for a granddaughter's graduation. They made the flight! So, Gary, Sheryl and Charlie slept in. I slept in too and did not walk until 7am! I captured an awesome picture of the Blue Ridge Mountains!
After a leisurely morning, including fresh baked cinnamon rolls! We headed to Gabe's, because Charlie needed a new belt! What is Gabe's? What is Gabe's? Gabe’s is an off-price retailer offering top brands and more for less. Since opening more than 60 years ago, Gabe’s has focused on being the destination for the very best deals on everything you need. Shoppers can find up to 70% savings off department store prices on fashion and footwear for the entire family, plus home, pantry and more, with new deals delivered daily. Old Time Pottery, a Tennessee-based home merchandise store, became a part of the Gabe’s family in 2023. Combined, the companies offer customers a broader assortment of home and seasonal products at incredible prices. Today, more than 158 Gabe’s and Old Town Pottery store locations are found across 20 states. I was impressed with the items they had there! Charlie got his belt, I got a pair of shorts, Sheryl got dryer balls and Gary got a shirt. A good shopping day!

We came back and got everything put away and then we satisfied Charlie request for the last 5 stops... where is the brewery? We found the Smoky Mountain Brewery and we were not disappointed!
Smoky Mountain Brewery opened in Gatlinburg in 1996 as East Tennessee’s first craft brewery, introducing house-made beers and a simple menu to a region unfamiliar with microbrews. Thanks to an ongoing dedication to exceptional quality, they evolved into a full-service restaurant known for delicious beer, fresh food, and warm hospitality.
We had Amanda as our server, she was awesome! She had 4 smaller tables, a table of 8 and a table of 14. She gave everyone the attention they needed, and always with a smile!

As the craft beer movement grew, so did they, opening locations in Pigeon Forge, Turkey Creek in Knoxville, and Maryville. We enjoyed our meal (Sheryl and Charlie enjoyed the beer) at the Pigeon Forge location.

Our food was delicious. I had a salad, Charlie had Chicken Fingers with fries, Sheryl had Fish & Chips and Gary had a veggie burger with fries. Everyone cleaned their plates!

The afternoon was gone by the time we got back. The guys had a rest and then we spent the evening visiting with Brian and Lisa and the neighbors. The neighbors were having a small jam session for us to enjoy! Sheryl and I got many games of "Shut the box" in. Sheryl also tried to figure out a game the neighbor had made.
More Two Lane Adventures tomorrow!
