A Day or a Two in Myrtle Beach

We took a couple days off from our two lane adventure to relax in Myrtle Beach. If you can't find a Carefree RV Resort to stay at, then Myrtle Beach Travel Park is a great alternative! MBTP offers you great beachside sites, plenty of amenities and activities. We relaxed on the beach, at the pool and at the camper. We did some touring. This was the first time this trip that we unhooked the jeep! We drove up and down restaurant row a few times and settled on Johnny Rockets and a local pizza place, Pizza Chef. I would not recommend Johnny Rockets, pricey for a burger and a shake. Pizza a Chef was friendly and the pizza was excellent! We stopped at Barefoot Landing at toured the shops. Being a lover of purple, we had to stop at PURPLEologist, a haven for all things purple!

RVer's must be approachable people, because we got stopped by a market researcher while we were at Barefoot Landing. Next to the Purple Store, I love to watch the turtles and fish. I think the fish were bigger than I have ever seen them!

One of the main reasons many people choose to travel to Myrtle Beach is to visit the beautiful golf courses. The courses in Myrtle Beach are known for being some of the best in the world, hence the title "golf capital of the world." It is not only known for its world-class golf courses, but also for its countless number of miniature golf courses. How many go.f courses are there in Myrtle Beach? You see at least one in every block. Well,  there are over 75 miniature golf courses in Myrtle Beach and many of them feature the latest designs and technology in the mini-golf industry. One of the most innovative courses in Myrtle Beach is the Mount Altanticus Minotaur Goff. The course features a mountain with waterfalls, streams, and see great views of the Atlantic Ocean from golf huts over 75 feet high. Golfers play their holes in mini tree houses built along the mountain.  You will see unimpeachable evidence of a miniature golf island resort rumored to be 50,000 years old. They say it broke away from the sunken continent of Atlantis only to reappear in Myrtle Beach. The resort was designed by a minotaur named Goff, hence the name. Hawaiian Rumble Miniature Golf is another widely popular course. It was named Best Mini-Golf Course in the USA by Golf Magazine thanks to its 50-foot volcano which erupts at various times during your time at the course. Hawaiian Rumble has played host to the annual U.S. Pro-Mini-Golf Masters Championship.

We also took in a country music show at the Carolina Opry. If you watch America's Got Talent, "All That" the male clogging group, performed in the show we saw. These men are still hot! The Carolina Opry also has an amazing laser show there and a 60, 70, & 80 music show "Good Vibrations."

We stayed on the south end of a North Myrtle Beach and it reminded me of my high school years. We used to drive to Cherry Grove in North Myrtle Beach at stay at a three story motel called The Seagull. It was a place where people knew your name and you returned year after year. Like everything else, time marches on and the Seagull Motel has been replaced by a high rise condominium. But the memories can never be replaced!

Enough of idle time, we are going to get back on the road. Look for our next leg of our two lane adventure.
